The international summer school "Fundamental Problems in Statistical Physics XVI" will take place on June 30th- July 11th, 2025 in the Sanctuary of Oropa (https://www.santuariodioropa.it/en/), which is located close to Biella, a town in northern Italy not far from Milan and Turin.

The school is addressed to PhD students and early postdocs. Leading experts in diverse and fundamental areas of statistical physics will provide pedagogical introductions to their research theme.  Each theme is developed in pairs of 2-hours long lectures. A series of seminars will complement the lectures. The format of the school allows ample time for discussions and interaction with the speakers and the other participants. All participants are invited to present a poster on their own research.

Lectures will begin on Monday, June 30 and finish on Friday, July 11 in the evening. We ask participants to arrive on Sunday, June 29 in the afternoon/evening and to leave on Saturday, July 12 after breakfast. The participation fee covering full board in shared room is ca. 850 EUR (the exact amount will be communicated in due time). Thanks to the generous support of the Wilhelm und Else Heraeus-Stiftung a number of scholarships are available upon motivated request for reducing the fee to ca. 450 EUR.
